Permul Ltd. is a family-owned distributor and sales representation agency for commercial food service equipment.  Our team is responsible for sales and marketing for Canadian, US and European-based manufacturers of equipment and technology used in restaurants, grocery, catering, convenience stores and healthcare.  Permul Ltd. is in a growth phase and requires additional administrative support.

Summary of Position:

 As part of the Customer Support team, the core of this role is to deliver and manage quotes across the various brands under contract with Permul Ltd. Manage pricing for projects and ensure that dealer partners are aware of price adjustments throughout the course of the project. Maintain oversight of projects specified within the Permul Ltd. territory and submit and oversee spec credit applications.  Grow share of major projects through negotiation supported by sales team.  Pinpoint opportunities for growth in projects and leverage programs to ensure sell through.  Maintain quoting software data by tracking lifecycle of projects.  This position may also provide customer support backup regarding equipment specifications through excellent telephone and email skills.  This position has been created as an addition to an existing estimating support team.

Estimating & Project Associate functions included, but are not limited to: 

  • Manage requests for quotations either by phone, email or major project submission requests.
  • Review opportunities with sales team and update them regarding regional inquiries.
  • Send formal quotes for equipment at established discounts.  Manage quoting software when required to close out or assign jobs for outside sales reps.
  • Ensure project quotes are priced accurately and provide updates to dealer partners if pricing has expired.
  • Maintain SpecPath software system including submitting for spec credits.
  • Attend or participate virtually in periodic sales training.
  • Provide snapshots of consultant and project activities to management and sales team.

Requirements & Qualifications: 

  • 3+ years experience in a sales support or customer service role.
  • Familiarity with CAD design would be an asset. Otherwise, technical proficiency to read drawings and learn software.
  • Food equipment industry experience and knowledge are a definite plus.
  • Comfortable with basic calculations and mathematical figures.
  • Multilingual – French/English is an asset for our national customer base.
  • Mechanical or technical proficiency is an asset for understanding the commercial food service equipment represented by Permul Ltd.
  • Able to build and maintain lasting relationships with customers.
  • Exceptional verbal/written/listening communication skills.
  • Self-motivated, with high energy and an engaging level of enthusiasm.
